Empower store owners to create and manage multiple wholesale tiers with distinct pricing using the Wholesale Prices Premium, enabling tiered wholesale pricing for different customer segments.
Step‑by‑Step Instructions

- Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Navigate to Wholesale → Roles.
- Click Add New Wholesale Role in the top toolbar.
- Complete the fields:
- Role Key (e.g., wholesale_bronze) — a unique identifier.
- Role Name (e.g., Bronze Wholesale) — the display label.
- Click Add Role to save your new wholesale tier.
- When editing products, you’ll now see separate wholesale price fields for each role — e.g., Bronze, Gold — under Product data → General (Wholesale).
Example Use Case
Your store wants three wholesale tiers:
| Tier | Role Key | Pricing Strategy |
| Bronze Wholesale | wholesale_bronze | 5% discount for small retailers |
| Silver Wholesale | wholesale_silver | 10% discount for mid‑size businesses |
| Gold Wholesale | wholesale_gold | 15% discount for high‑volume buyers |
Workflow:
- Add the three roles above.
- Set respective wholesale prices within each product’s Wholesale tab.
- Assign customers to the appropriate tier. Ensure that you assign one role per user only. Move them to a different wholesale role if you want to offer them a bigger discount.
- You may also use our Lead Capture plugin to create a registration page. On this page, you can manually or automatically assign wholesale roles to new registered customers.
If you already have an existing wholesale or custom role from another plugin, you cannot assign wholesale capabilities from our plugin. All wholesale roles must be created under our Wholesale → Role section to access the full functionality.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a new wholesale pricing tier in WordPress?
To do this, log into your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Wholesale → Roles, then click “Add New Wholesale Role.” Enter a unique Role Key — something like “wholesale_bronze” — and a display name such as “Bronze Wholesale,” then save the record. Once saved, a dedicated pricing field for that level appears automatically on every product edit screen, ready for you to fill in. Repeat the process for each additional segment you want to offer.
Do wholesale tiers work with roles created in other plugins?
No, each level must be built inside Wholesale Prices Premium’s dedicated Roles section rather than imported from groups you set up in other tools. Mixing sources can cause the pricing fields to display incorrectly or disappear from product pages entirely. Keeping everything within a single area ensures consistent behaviour and guarantees each customer segment gets its own rate field across your entire catalogue.
Is there a limit to how many wholesale tiers I can create?
Generally, Wholesale Prices Premium does not cap how many segments you can add. A common structure uses three — bronze for small retailers, silver for mid-size businesses, and gold for high-volume buyers — but you can go beyond that if your discount strategy calls for it. Keep in mind that every new segment adds an extra price entry field to each item’s edit screen, so a very large number of levels can make catalogue management more time-consuming over time.
Can I automatically assign new customers to a wholesale tier?
Absolutely — the Lead Capture companion plugin lets you build dedicated registration pages where applicants are funnelled into a specific wholesale group upon approval. Once someone is accepted, the system places them into the correct group without any manual steps on your end. If you prefer hands-on control, you can also open an individual account’s profile inside the WordPress admin and assign the appropriate group there directly.
Why aren’t my new wholesale tier prices showing on product pages?
Typically, this occurs when an account has not yet been linked to the correct wholesale group. Open that profile in the WordPress admin and confirm the right assignment is in place — keep in mind each account supports only one wholesale assignment at a time. If the assignment looks correct but the discounted figure still does not appear, verify that you actually entered a value in that group’s dedicated field when editing the item, since leaving it blank causes the store to fall back to the standard retail rate instead.
