Wholesale customers who can see exactly how much they save compared to retail are more motivated to place larger orders and return to your store. WooCommerce Wholesale Prices Premium includes a saving amount display that shows each customer their savings as a dollar figure, a percentage, or both. You can choose to show it on the shop page, product page, cart, checkout, order confirmation, and email invoice.
This article explains how to enable the saving amount display, choose which pages it appears on, and customize the message text shown to your wholesale customers.
Requirements
- WooCommerce Wholesale Prices Premium installed and activated. The saving amount display is a Premium-only feature and is not included in the free WooCommerce Wholesale Prices plugin.
Enable the wholesale saving amount display
- Go to Wholesale → Settings → Wholesale Prices → Price.
- Scroll to the Price Options section.
- Toggle Show Wholesale Saving Amount to Enabled.

Once enabled, the What Pages to Show the Saving Text sub-section appears directly below the toggle.
Choose where the saving text appears
Check the boxes for each location where you want the saving amount to display.
- Shop Page – shows the saving amount beneath the wholesale price on product listings, category pages, and related product sections.
- Single Product Page – shows the saving amount on the individual product page.
- Cart/Checkout/Order Page – shows the total savings for the order above the order total row on the cart page, checkout page, and order confirmation page.
- Email Invoice – includes the total order savings in the order confirmation email sent to the customer.
Customize the saving amount text
The Wholesale Saving Amount Text field controls the message that appears to customers. The default text is:
You are saving {saved_amount} ({saved_percentage}) off RRP on this order
You can change this to any phrase. Two template tags are available to insert the calculated values.
{saved_amount}– replaced with the dollar amount saved, formatted using your store’s currency settings.{saved_percentage}– replaced with the saving expressed as a percentage of the retail price.

On the shop and product pages, the saving text is appended to the wholesale price for each product. On the cart, checkout, order confirmation, and email invoice, the saving text reflects the total savings for the entire order.
Frequently asked questions
Does the saving amount display work for variable products?
On the shop and single product pages, the saving amount display applies to simple products only. Variable products are not included in the per-product saving calculation on those pages. On the cart, checkout, order confirmation, and email invoice, savings are calculated from the actual line item prices in the cart, so any product type is included in the total savings figure.
Does the saving amount appear for all customers or only wholesale customers?
The saving amount display only appears for logged-in wholesale customers. Retail customers and guests do not see any saving text.
What price is used as the retail price when calculating savings?
By default, the plugin uses the product’s current selling price as the retail baseline. If a sale price is active on the product, the saving is calculated from the sale price rather than the regular price. To always calculate savings from the regular price regardless of any active sale, enable Always Use Regular Price at Wholesale → Settings → Wholesale Prices → Price.
Can I show only the dollar amount without the percentage, or only the percentage?
Yes. Edit the Wholesale Saving Amount Text field and remove the tag you do not need. To show only the dollar amount, use a message such as You are saving {saved_amount} on this order. To show only the percentage, use You are saving {saved_percentage} off retail on this order.
On the cart page, does the saving amount show per item or for the whole order?
On the cart, checkout, order confirmation, and email invoice, the saving amount reflects the total savings for the entire order. Per-item savings are shown only on the shop page and single product page, and only for simple products.
I enabled the feature but the saving text is not appearing. What should I check?
First, confirm that the customer account is assigned a wholesale role. The saving amount display only appears for logged-in wholesale customers. Next, check that you have ticked at least one option in the What Pages to Show the Saving Text section and that you are viewing the corresponding page. Also verify that the wholesale price is lower than the retail price used as the baseline – the plugin only outputs the saving text when there is a positive difference. Finally, clear any server-side or full-page cache and test in a private browser session to rule out cached responses.
Does the saving amount display appear in the Wholesale Order Form?
The saving amount display is tied to the standard WooCommerce shop, product, cart, and checkout pages. It does not output saving text within the WooCommerce Wholesale Order Form table itself. Savings are still visible on the cart and checkout after a customer adds items through the order form.
Can I use HTML in the Wholesale Saving Amount Text field?
The {saved_amount} and {saved_percentage} tags are replaced with bold-formatted values when displayed. The surrounding text is output as-is, so basic HTML such as line breaks or inline styles will work. Test any custom markup on a staging site before using it on a live store.
Does the saving text respect the store’s tax display settings?
Yes. On the cart and checkout pages, the saving calculation uses the same tax display mode – inclusive or exclusive – that is configured for the cart in your WooCommerce tax settings. The saved amount figure therefore matches the prices the customer sees in the cart totals.
